Tooty was Abbie's first flute, a Yamaha 211 (given to her when she was seven), and she wrote stories about him called 'Flute Adventures'. These stories were published in Flutewise Magazine many years later, appearing from 2005 - 2008. Abbie went on to create a photo diary of 'Tooty the Travelling Flute' which became popular with readers of all ages.
