
Teacher
Known for her innovative and passionate approach to teaching, Abbie has been a Guest Artist at numerous flute festivals, events and music courses, working with thousands of flute players of all ages and standards. Her enthusiastic and creative teaching style has earned her an international reputation, with her workshops being scheduled at flute events across Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and Australia.
Abbie teaches the flute at the Royal Academy of Music junior department. She has been a chamber music coach, Flute Ensemble Director and deputy flute teacher at Trinity Laban, Flute Professor for Dartmouth College Foreign Study Program, and has previously taught at Junior Guildhall and specialist music institution The Purcell School.
A passionate supporter of flute children’s charity Flutewise, Abbie has assisted Liz Goodwin (Founder) since 2005 on their numerous events and residential courses across the UK, Croatia and Slovenia. She was the Director of the Junior Day at the Australian Flute Festival 2015-19, designing and running a varied programme of activities for young people of all standards, and has worked on numerous summer courses. She is excited to be a guest Artist/Tutor on the Muzon International Institute Summer Course 2025.
Working with adults, she has been a Guest Artist/Tutor at Interlochen Center for the Arts Flute Camp (Michigan, U.S), Wind Chamber Music Weekends, Benslow, and been a resident tutor for Flute School London courses for over ten years.
Abbie is the creator of eFlute, an online global learning platform for adults founded during the pandemic. She regards it as her proudest achievement.
